Stadium Possibilities Are Limitless with Shelley Yates’ Help

When Pensacola’s Multi-Use Stadium was conceived, it was planned for baseball and more. To create the more, Shelley Yates has been hired as the Blue Wahoos events coordinator.

“We couldn’t be more excited about Shelley Yates joining the Blue Wahoos organization. Her love for Pensacola, her credibility as a professional, and her reputation for outstanding community events and service, are exactly the type of message we want the Blue Wahoos to convey to this community,” said Blue Wahoos owner Quint Studer. “Rishy and I have always hoped that the stadium and the Maritime Park would be a true community venue, and I think Shelley is going to help us meet that goal of providing year-round entertainment for the people of Pensacola and the entire region. With Shelley and the rest of our special events team, you’re going to love what the Blue Wahoos are going to bring to downtown Pensacola.”

Since the beginning, the plan has always been to offer to begin and end community events such as marathons and parades at the facility. The stadium is equipped with a video board to accommodate family movie nights and large televised sporting events. The possibilities of the Multi-Use Stadium are truly unlimited with the ability to host a number of entertainment acts from plays, to concerts and other various acts. Companies or individuals can also rent out areas of the park for small, middle or large group outings or for graduation parties, wedding receptions and more.

“I’m so happy to be a part of this outstanding organization,” said Yates. “I am excited about the opportunity to grow the Blue Wahoos and the ballpark into a year-round entertainment venue for not just Pensacola, but the entire surrounding area.”

Yates was born and raised in Pensacola and has been an active member of the community throughout her entire life. She joins the Blue Wahoos after working six years for the world-famous Fish House restaurant as the marketing and public relations director of the Great Southern Restaurant Group in Pensacola. While there, she scheduled events, worked in marketing and public relations and served as the social media director.

Recently she was honored with the Hospitality Veteran Award and the Spirit of Tourism Award by the Visit Pensacola division of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.
